THIS WEEK’S CANADIAN FINDS

Products, businesses, people and places that deserve a little more attention.

A MYSTERY AT YOUR DOORSTEP · ONTARIO

Mysterious Package Company

What would you do if a mysterious wooden crate showed up at your door, filled with strange artifacts, cryptic letters and clues to an unsolved mystery?

That's the kind of adventure created by The Mysterious Package Company, a Canadian business based just outside Toronto.

Their team of storytellers, artists and puzzle-makers creates elaborate experiences that transport you into worlds of mystery, intrigue and adventure. From supernatural tales to puzzling investigations, each experience invites you to become part of the story.

With Halloween just around the corner, this might be one of the most perfectly timed Canadian discoveries we've ever featured!

BIG MEMORIES, TINY HOUSES · ALBERTA

Toula’s House of Clay

Imagine holding your childhood home, family cottage or favourite building right in the palm of your hand.

That's exactly what Alberta artist Toula Prins makes possible!

Working from photographs and cherished memories, Toula creates incredibly detailed miniature clay replicas of real homes and buildings. Tiny windows, rooflines, brickwork and all the little details that make a house special are lovingly recreated by hand.

What began with miniature houses for a Christmas village has grown into a business helping people preserve some of their most meaningful memories.

Sometimes the smallest things really do mean the most.

ALMOST TOO CUTE TO EAT · ONTARIO

Birdzy

These adorable little animals have a secret. They're meant to be eaten! By birds, that is.

Meet Birdzy, an Ottawa-based Canadian business making some of the cutest bird feeders we've ever seen.

Their handmade Birdzy Buddies look like little owls, foxes, raccoons, snowmen and other colourful characters. But they're actually made from birdseed and other bird-friendly ingredients!

Hang one outside and watch as your feathered neighbours gradually nibble away at their new little friend.

It's a wonderfully creative way to bring a little more life, colour and entertainment to your backyard.

ONLY IN CANADA · MANITOBA

The SnowSaw

Leave it to Canadians to invent an actual saw for snow!

Meet The SnowSaw, a clever little invention made right in Winnipeg, Manitoba, designed to make building snow forts, igloos and backyard snow sculptures even more fun.

And here's the best part. It's made from the same durable material used on hockey-rink boards! The company even repurposes old arena boards when available.

Lightweight, colourful and designed for cutting and shaping snow, it's a simple idea that could turn an ordinary snowbank into an afternoon of adventure.

A Canadian-made invention inspired by hockey rinks and built for snowy winters? How Canadian is that?!

We want to shine a little more light on Canada’s creative talent, and we could use your help.

Maybe they’re already well known in your hometown. Maybe they’re just getting started. Either way, send them our way. We’ll be featuring some of your recommendations in future issues of More Canada Please.
