Cheekbone Beauty began with a dream. In 2015, founder Jenn Harper woke with a vivid image of happy Indigenous girls covered in colourful lip gloss. That moment inspired her to create a beauty brand where Indigenous people could feel seen and represented.
Launched in St. Catharines, Ontario, Cheekbone Beauty now creates vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics while supporting Indigenous youth through donations, community partnerships and scholarships.

Rowsome Leather
Handmade leather goods that started with one impossible-to-find horse bridle.
Tinneal Rowsome started leatherworking in rural Manitoba in 2005 because she could not find the kind of horse bridle she wanted. A local cobbler taught her to make one, and that experience became the beginning of more than two decades of leather artistry.
Today, Rowsome Leather creates traveller’s notebooks, wallets, stationery pieces and wonderfully unexpected leather book straps.

Newfoundland Salt Company
Sea salt made from the waters of Trinity Bay.
Peter and Robin were high-school sweethearts who reconnected approximately 20 years later after both felt drawn back to Newfoundland. They began making sea salt in 2011 and eventually moved to Bonavista to operate the business full-time.
The company collects seawater from Trinity Bay, brings it to its Bonavista facility and slowly produces flake salt, along with distinctly Newfoundland varieties such as juniper-smoked, green alder, lovage and seaweed salt.

Dinosaurs, waterfalls and mountain trails in one remarkable corner of B.C.
Tumbler Ridge combines dinosaur trackways, fossils, waterfalls, mountain scenery and more than 100 kilometres of trails. Its modern paleontology story took off after two local boys discovered ankylosaur tracks in Flatbed Valley in 2000. The region later became a UNESCO Global Geopark.
